Veterans Assisted Living — Yuma celebrated its grand opening on Tuesday November 10th. Veterans Assisted Living — Yuma: For Veterans and Friends is located at 2600 S. 4th Avenue in Yuma. The facility previous housed Clarion Suites. The four-acre complex features 160 fully furnished one-bedroom apartments, some with bathrooms remodeled to accommodate wheelchair access. Other units are equipped for the visually and hearing impaired. The facility will provide a nurse on staff 24 hours a day, three meals daily, housekeeping, laundry, assistance with bathing and dressing. Footgolf Course Ribbon Cutting
The city of Yuma is held a grand opening for its new "footgolf" course from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday November 2nd, along the front nine of the Desert Hills Par 3 Golf Course at 1301 W. 32nd Street. Residents were able to play free rounds of footgolf during the opening celebration, as well as enjoy light refreshments as they learned about this sport, which combines the rules and etiquette of golf with the action of kicking a soccer ball around a parallel course, with 21-inch cups at the holes to accommodate the much larger ball. The Davïn-Karin Salon celebrated its grand opening on Thursday, October 22nd with the Chamber, family, and friends. Davïn-Karin is co-owned by Randy Rusk and stylist Marcy Reyes and it is named for his children. The salon sets itself apart from the rest through advanced technology and a unique interior design. The stylists’ hairdryers, for example, “float” about their heads and can be pulled down when needed.
