Chamber Awards

 

The Yuma County Chamber of Commerce recognizes in the greater Yuma area, the list of inspiring leaders is long. We have no shortage of people who have the ability to translate intentions into reality and to sustain it. Through our different awards programs, the Chamber acknowledges a few, recognizing them for their contributions to the Chamber and the community at large.

Athena International Award
The Athena Award acknowledges local women who have attained and personified the highest level of excellence in her/his business or profession, devoted meaningful time and energy to the community, and generously assisted women in attaining their full potential. It is presented each year at the Awards and Installation Dinner. Nominations are open to the public with the form available late each November. The 2021 award is co-sponsored by the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce and National Bank of Arizona.

InstaGRAMMY
The InstaGRAMMY was created to recognize a Chamber member who supports the Chamber and the community with their positive outreach through social media. Whether it's sharing posts, spreading the word about programs, or simply providing positive comments to uplift others, this person is a fixture on community and business Facebook, Instagram, and other social media sites.

Member of the Month and Member of the Year
The Member of the Month is a tribute to Chamber members who go all out giving their time, energy, and donations to support the community. This award is presented at a Good Morning Yuma breakfast. The Member of the Year is selected from the previous years' Member of the Month recipients. It is presented each year at the Awards and Installation Dinner.

Small Business Person Of The Year
The Small Business-Person of the Year award recognizes local business people operating successfully in the Yuma area market and contributing to high standards of excellence and community participation. It is presented each year at the Awards and Installation Dinner.

S. June Pallack Excellence in Education
This award program is designed to honor the thousands of people that are not teachers, but are as dedicated, and as worthy of recognition as those hard working teachers. These people are aides, volunteers, staffers, office personnel, and administrators. This award is available to any employee, or contracted employee from any Yuma County Pre K - 16 (early childhood, preschool, elementary, post-secondary, or adult) public or private, charter or adult, educational institution including the JTED. Categories include School Services Staff, Business Benefactor, School Board Member, Instructional Support Staff, Professional Services Staff, Administrator, and Volunteer.
